  • 3 days prior: No peels, facials, exfoliants, topical antibiotics, exfoliating masks, or hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide acne products, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), or beta hydroxyl acids (BHA).

After Your Treatment

Aftercare Instructions

  • A thin layer of Instant Rescue Balm will be applied while you are still in the office once your treatment is completed. Continue to apply the Instant Rescue Balm or Aquaphor to keep the treatment area(s) well moisturized. After a few days, your skin may feel dry and itchy. It is important to keep those areas moisturized with the aquaphor to promote the healing process. DO NOT USE petroleum jelly or any perfumed moisturizer.
  • Wash the treatment area with a mild soap, such as Cetaphil for 2 to 5 days. Once healed, you can go back to your daily cleansing and skin care products.
  • It is VERY important to APPLY sunscreen SPF 50+ or higher if you are going to be outside for at least 2 weeks. NO sun/tanning booths, NO hot tubs/saunas, NO hot showers/baths, NO exercising/strenuous activity fot the first week.
  • Makeup can be worn 2-3 days after the procedure. We suggest something with a sunscreen in it. We have some great products you will love.
  • You may notice redness, swelling, and itching at the treatment area(s) over the next 2-5 days. The redness and itching may continue until you are completely healed.
  • If you have swelling, elevate the treatment area and apply cold compresses to reduce swelling and any sunburn sensation. Swelling usually occurs under the eye and cheek areas initially.
  • If you have been advised to NOT take Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Please adhere to those instructions given by your physician. Otherwise, for swelling and/or sunbirn sensation, you may take Ibuprofen or Tylenol as directed by the medication manufacturer.
  • Once the treatment area is healed, you will want to schedule a complimentary dermaplane facial. This will usually be between 8-10 days after the first procedure.
  • We would like to hear from you, especially during the first few days to see how you are doing. We are excited to see your results! Please send photos from the first 2 days following your OPUS treatment to 567-274-2316.

Please do not hesitate to call the office with any questions or concerns at 567-560-5558.

Have Questions?

We've compiled answers to the most common questions to help you make informed decisions about your beauty journey.

What Is Opus Plasma?

The first-of-its-kind fractional plasma technology, Opus Plasma represents a new chapter for energy-based devices, addressing global or localized textural and skin quality concerns often corrected with conventional fractional resurfacing lasers in the past.

  • Operating at a high frequency of over 40MHz, the metal pins on the Opus Plasma tips are super-charged with high-voltage.
  • When in close proximity of the skin, the charged pins react to atmospheric pressure in the air, creating plasma that in turn, creates the microthermal zones of fractional injuries.
  • Our Opus treatment delivers radio frequency energy at multiple levels to customize a treatment for your specific skincare concerns, using a range of settings to safely and effectively resurface the skin.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Incredible results happen as soon as the first treatment, however for maximum results we recommend 3-4 treatments. We recommend scheduling them 3 weeks apart. The results of Opus Plasma Spark are permanent; however natural aging will still occur, so to maintain results you can have a maintenance treatment as often as every 6 months.

Does Opus Plasma Hurt?

We will apply a numbing cream before the treatment to make you as comfortable as possible, but you will still feel mild heat and pressure during the treatment. Most people tolerate the treatment well, however we do offer Pro-Nox {laughing gas} to help alleviate anxiety and numb your senses to pain. See Pro-Nox page for all the details.

Who Is An Ideal Candidate?

Anyone who would like to address the following skin concerns without the pain, redness, and swelling associated with traditionally aggressive laser treatments:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Uneven tone
  • Unwanted pigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • Acne + surgical scars

How Much Does Opus Plasma Cost?

Opus Plasma requires a consultation appointment to determine treatment plan and pricing.

Consultations at Beyond Esthetics are complimentary.

What Is The Downtime?

Opus Plasma is the most aggressive resurfacing device we offer and the downtime is approximately one week. You will appear to have a sunburn during this time. You may have swelling for the first few days. If your swelling is bad, contact us and we will schedule you a cryo treatment to reduce inflammation. You can return to your normal activities you will just be red/inflamed for the first few days. See Post Treatment under the Resources tab for aftercare instructions.

How Soon Will I See Results?

Most patients notice improvement in their skin’s tone and texture within the first week after treatment, but it can be up to 3 weeks to see final results. We recommend at least three treatments, spaced 3 weeks apart, for optimal results and continued maintenance sessions every six to twelve months after your initial series of treatments.

What Areas Can Be Treated

You can treat the face, neck, chest, body, arms, hands, legs, stomach, glutes and breasts. During your consultation appointment they can discuss with you how big a treatment area is.
